Privacy policy
This page describes what actually happens to your data on the e-mobile.lv website.
This version dates from 4 November 2026. The original website's policy was last updated on 6 May 2024.
1. Who are we?
We are SIA "USUS", reg. no. 40103318291, legal address Rīga, Blaumaņa iela 21 - 4A, LV-1011. The company's main business is trading and delivering vehicles from Germany and the rest of Europe. e-mobile.lv is our online services website.
2. What data do we collect?
We process only the data you send us yourself through this website's requests, by e-mail or by phone:
- contact details: your name, e-mail address, phone number and the text of your message;
- in a purchase request: the listing link, the car's details (loaded from the listing or entered by you), how you would like to pay, your planned first payment and whether you would like us to look into the EKII grant;
- in a sale request: a description of the car and your asking price, as well as photos and documents of the car if you attach them;
- in a transport request: the vehicle, the place of departure and the place of delivery;
- on the request page: the messages you write to us and we write to you, the images and PDF documents attached to them, and the progress of the request (its stages and their dates).
3. What happens to a request?
While you fill in a request, what you enter stays only in your browser, in this tab's session storage, so that it is not lost when you move between steps or reload the page. It disappears when you close the tab or send the request. The request is saved on our server when you press the send button after ticking your consent.
Once saved, the content of the request is e-mailed to the company's internal mailbox for handling requests, and a confirmation with the request number and a personal link to your request page is sent to the e-mail address you gave. We use your e-mail address to communicate about this request; we do not send advertising to it.
On the request page you see the progress of the request and your conversation with us. It opens only with the personal link from the e-mail, in the browser you sent the request from, or in your account if the request is linked to it. The link is valid for a limited time, and we keep only its checksum, not the link itself. We send links only to the e-mail address the request was sent with. When we write to you, you get a notification by e-mail and, if you have turned them on, also in your browser; when you write to us, the message reaches the staff handling the request.
When you paste a listing link, our server reads the publicly available listing. For this, the listing link, without your contact details, may be passed to a technical service that loads the public page.
4. Attached files
You can attach images and PDF documents to a sale request (photos of the car and, for example, the registration certificate) and to messages in the conversation. We keep the file, its name, size and the time it was added together with the request.
Before saving an image, our server re-encodes it: only the image itself is kept, without the camera and location data (EXIF) that a phone or camera often writes into the file. Large images may already be reduced in your browser before sending. We keep PDF documents as you sent them; we do not accept documents with scripts, automatic actions or embedded files.
Your browser converts iPhone photos (HEIC) to JPEG with the heic-to library, which we load only when you choose such a file. Its licence (GNU LGPL 3.0) and source code links: licences.txt.
The files are seen by you and by the SIA "USUS" staff who work on the request. They are available only to someone who may open the request (in your account, with the personal link or in the staff area) and are never published at a public address. We keep the files for as long as we keep the request. Files you attached but did not send are deleted within the next day.
5. Account
An account is not required: you can send a request without one. If you create an account, we keep your e-mail address, name, phone number and a checksum of your password (we do not keep or know the password itself). You can change your name and phone number in the account settings. We confirm your e-mail address with a one-time code that we send to it.
Two-step verification is optional. If you turn it on, we keep your authenticator app key and your backup codes in encrypted form.
For security, we record sign-in attempts, including failed ones, with the IP address and technical information about the browser. While you are signed in, a session cookie remembers your account; the "Sign out" button ends the session.
Requests you send while signed in are linked to your account, as are earlier requests sent with your confirmed e-mail address. You see them in your account. If you would like your account deleted, please contact us.
6. Security check in forms
To protect the forms from bots and abuse, we use Google reCAPTCHA. When you send a request, attach a file or use the sign-in, registration and other account forms, your browser loads reCAPTCHA from Google's servers (www.google.com and www.gstatic.com). There are no puzzles to solve: the check runs in the background.
To tell a person from a bot, reCAPTCHA reads technical information about the device and browser, such as the IP address, browser type and screen size, as well as how the page is used, such as movements and taps, and passes this data to Google. From Google we receive only an assessment of whether the action looks human, and based on it we accept or reject the form.
This processing is governed by Google's privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and terms of service (opens in a new tab). Google may also process this data outside the European Union and may use its own cookies for the check.
7. Browser notifications
Browser notifications are optional. You turn them on yourself: first on our website, then by allowing them in your browser. We send notifications only about your request: when a specialist writes to you and when the stage of the request changes. A notification contains the name of the stage and the text of the specialist's message, so it may be visible on your device's screen.
When you turn notifications on, the browser gives us its notification address and two encryption keys. We keep them with your account if you are signed in, or with the requests this browser may show. For each notification sent, we keep the time it was sent and the delivery result.
Notifications are delivered to your device by your browser's notification service: Google for Chrome, Apple for Safari, Mozilla for Firefox and Microsoft for Edge. These services may be located outside the European Union. Before sending, we encrypt the content of the notification with your browser's key, as the Web Push standard requires; the service receives the notification address, the delivery time and an encrypted message.
You can turn notifications off in the account settings, in the conversation window or in your browser settings. When you turn them off on our website or the notification service reports that the address is no longer valid, we delete the notification address and keys. If you choose "Later", this browser remembers it in its local storage, not in a cookie. You receive e-mails about your request regardless of notifications.
8. Browser extension
The e-mobile.lv browser extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox is optional. It works only on AutoScout24 and mobile.de pages and on this website.
When you open a car listing, the extension sends e-mobile.lv the listing address and the car data published on the page (the price, VAT information and the car's description) to calculate the price to Riga. In search results it usually calculates the price to Riga itself, using price settings loaded from e-mobile.lv; if they are not available, it sends each listing's number, price, VAT information, country, make, model, title and year of first registration. The data is sent only to e-mobile.lv, without cookies and without your contact details; we use it only for the calculation and do not keep it. To limit the number of requests, the server briefly uses your IP address.
In its browser storage the extension keeps only its on or off setting, the listing page reading and price settings sent by e-mobile.lv, a list of transport classes for car models and whether you have dismissed the reminder about the old version. It needs no account and does not read other websites. On e-mobile.lv pages it only marks that it is installed, so that we no longer offer it to you. You can turn it off with the switch in its toolbar button or remove it in your browser's extension settings.
In Chrome and Edge our website checks whether the old version of the extension is installed by trying to load its logo; the result stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere. If you choose "Later" for the extension offer, this browser remembers it in its local storage for 30 days.
9. Cookies
The website uses cookies for two purposes. The ones needed for it to work are a session cookie and a security token that allows the request and sign-in forms to be sent safely. The data entered in a request is not saved in cookies; until it is sent, it is only in this tab's session storage, as described above.
Two cookies remember your own choices. The emobile_lang cookie is set when you pick a language in the language menu or open the website in English or Russian, so that the other pages show the same language. It holds only the language code and is valid for one year.
The emobile_wishlist cookie is set when you first mark a car with the "Select" button in the car search. It holds only a random key. Our server keeps only a checksum of this key and links your selection to it: the search text, the filters and sorting, and up to 200 selected cars (the listing link, title, year, mileage, price, price to Riga, the listing photo address, short car details and the time added), as well as your account if you are signed in. The cookie is valid for one year. Your selection is seen by you in this browser and by SIA "USUS" staff, so that they can help you find a car. If you are signed in to your account, we re-read the saved listings about once a day to show price changes, removed listings and the AI risk assessment. Cars you remove from your selection are taken off the list. We delete the list itself automatically once it has not been used for 12 months, or earlier at your request.
When you send a request or open a personal link, the session records that this browser may show your requests. The "Close requests on this device" button removes this mark; signing out of your account does not.
During the security check of the forms, Google reCAPTCHA may use its own cookies, as described in the section "Security check in forms".
Links to our social media pages lead to external websites, where the privacy policies of those services apply.
10. Images
The photos on the "Contacts" and "About us" pages are our own: the office entrance, the showroom and staff portraits. They are shown from our server. The other photos on this website are illustrative; they do not show e-mobile.lv offers or the office.
Illustrative images are loaded directly from Unsplash servers (images.unsplash.com). To show an image, your browser contacts these servers and passes them its IP address and the usual technical browser information. Unsplash is an external service governed by its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
The photos on a car page are the listing's own photos. Before you send a request, your browser loads them directly from the listing site's image servers (AutoScout24 or mobile.de) and passes them its IP address and the usual technical browser information. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies. When you send a purchase request, our server saves a copy of the listing photos with the request, so that they remain available on the request page and to our staff even if the listing is removed. The request page shows them from our server.
The map on the "Contacts" page is loaded from OpenStreetMap servers (tile.openstreetmap.org). To show the map, your browser contacts these servers and passes them its IP address and the usual technical browser information. This service is governed by the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy (opens in a new tab).
11. Why do we collect this data?
So that we can provide the services you are interested in remotely: to start and provide the services and communicate about them, to prepare invoices, contracts and documents, and for long-term customer service.
12. How long do we keep the data?
The data is kept for as long as needed to consider the request, provide the services and fulfil the obligations set out in contracts. A car selection not used for 12 months is deleted automatically, as described in the section "Cookies". For other data no automatic deletion after a set period is configured; we delete it when it is no longer needed or at your request, unless we are obliged to keep it.
13. Who can access your data?
- the staff of SIA "USUS";
- the technical maintainers of this website, as far as needed for the website and e-mail to work;
- third parties providing services at your wish or with your consent (for example, insurance brokers and leasing companies);
- state, municipal and law enforcement authorities in cases set out by law.
We do not pass personal data to third parties outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. The exceptions are browser notifications, if you have turned them on, and the security check of the forms: these are provided by your browser's notification service and by Google, as described in the sections "Browser notifications" and "Security check in forms".
14. Your rights
If you have questions about this policy or the processing of your personal data, or would like to request access to your data or its deletion, contact us by phone at +371 22338877 or write to info@e-mobile.lv.
